Amazon.com Review
Ideal for home or office, this French press coffeemaker doubles as an insulated thermos so coffee stays hot and fresh for up to two hours. The pot holds 34 ounces (1 liter), nearly seven 5-ounce cups, and can be used for brewing tea as well as coffee. It's made of stainless steel polished to a mirror-finish, has a large, comfortable handle, and is dishwasher-safe. The lid seals in heat remarkably well and turns to prevent heat from escaping through the spout between pours. The pot stands 8-1/2 inches high, including the plunger top. --Fred Brack

Great Coffee Pot (2010-05-18)
After many disasters with glass beaker versions,I decided to purchase a non-breakable version. This coffee pot, not only is it aesthetically pleasing, it works very well. I really like the all-in-one filter, after the glass version has 3 pieces. The filter works efficiently. Not sure for how long the pot holds the temperature, as I use it straight away. Also love that I can put it in the dishwasher. I put the pot on the bottom rack. The filter and plunger go on the top rack. The instructions included were for the glass version, so I was unsure about putting items in the dishwasher. So far no problems! I really love this pot !
Bodum vs. Frieling (2010-05-17)
I have owned the Bodum, Columbia 51 ounce French press for 5 years now. It is beautiful. However, I am finally disposing of it, and trading UP to the Frieling. The main reason; the rubber-edged gasket plunger of all the Bodum designs wears out, and you get coffee grounds in your pour!
The Frieling and Thermos/Nisan French presses have all-steel plunger-edges that will not wear out as easily (although the steel mesh does need to be maintained). These non-rubber designs simply work better. Plus, the Frieling design is also quite attractive and has a better.
great product (2010-04-02)
I got this stainless steel plunge pot/french press several years ago after 2 glass ones broke. It's still in excellent shape, keep coffee warmer longer, and makes far superior coffee than drip coffee makers. And it looks very nice on the counter.
Bodum Stainless Steel Coffee Press (2010-03-12)
Coffee presses are the way to go! Don't learn the hard way like I did by buying the glass beaker style first. The glass beakers break very easily and aren't cheap. After breaking 4 of them, we realized the stainless steel pot, although not cheap either, was going to be the best route in the long run. Plus, it keeps the coffee warm for a while, which the glass does not. This is a great product if you are interested in a coffee press.
Doesn't keep coffee hot (2010-02-17)
I love the French Press and the Bodum stainless steel pot has a much nicer look that the glass versions, but the 'thermal' qualities here are a bit of a stretch. Keep in mind this is not a thermos, which would have air space between the outer wall and the inner wall and would come with a vacuum seal and would actually keep the contents warm for a reasonable amount of time, which this unit does not do. If you plan on using it to make a pot of coffee for several people and don't plan on topping off the cups later, then this is a good product. But don't plan on coming back for refills and expect the coffee to be hot.
