Awesome for travel or away from home (2010-02-07)
I LOVE this tea pot! It is so convenient to be able to control the steeping time by just pushing the plunger. No digging out hot drippy bags or tea ball. I use this in the office or whenever I'm away from home. You can pre-pack it with sugar & tea, bring it in your lunch bag, then just add hot water when you're ready.
It's very important to add the water through the installed tea-filled strainer. I think that buyers who had trouble may have filled the pot with water first and then added the strainer. You miss the initial infusion from the leaves that way and it may not brew as well.
Nice looking and it works (2010-01-20)
This is another nice Bodum product. It is simple in use and it does what it claims (keeps tea from getting bitter because of too long contact of water and tea leaves). I had a little concern with how the press works. The cap gets hot and to push the press down you have to touch it. Be careful! The coat really doesn't help much but it makes the pot to look cozy. Easy to clean. Maybe slightly overpriced but I'm going to buy another one for someone as a present.

This tea press is simple to use, makes delicious tea, and the sealed area below the plunger keeps the tea from becoming bitter when it's done steeping. The parts are easy to clean. The neoprene coat doesn't keep the tea hot for very long, though, and it smells when it's new. I wouldn't pay extra for it.
