Perfect for 1 person (2009-11-11)
This pot will make 3 cups of 8 oz. Most people are drinking more than that, hence 1 1/2 cups for most. I like the flavor of strong coffee with lots of cream; hence this gets me 2 cups.

The thermos will keep the coffee warm for the first hour, but after that, it just cools down. However, it doesn't have the problem of glass french presses which start loosing heat immediately. Visually it's quite a nice looking french press.

better descriptions needed (2009-02-16)
the product is great....i have one and wanted another to give to a friend, but the descprition says it is a 3 cup and it's really only a 1 1/2 cup. if you go on bodums website you can find this out, but i didn't know it until i went to their website to see how I screwed up. the eight cup is the real 3 cup. but it makes the best coffee ever!!
